NORWAY. Gebr. Heinemann and Travel Retail Norway have opened a 300sq m duty free shop in the non-Schengen area of Oslo Airport.
It will operate under the Heinemann Duty Free Shop brand. A total of 1,200 perfume and cosmetics products and 800 articles of alcohol, tobacco and sweets will be sold, the partners said.
“As Oslo Airport has grown as a hub in the Nordics, we have seen a need for a shop in the non-Schengen area,” said Travel Retail Norway Managing Director Håkon Fjeld-Hansen.
“We know this shop will be greatly appreciated by travellers, as many want to get past the passport control as fast as possible, and therefore not stop in our other departure stores. But once they are inside the non-Schengen area they will now be able to shop with a steady pulse and assurance they will be able to board the airplane.”
Travel Retail Norway is a joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and Norse-Trade.
