German-Spanish wine producer Henkell Freixenet is set to highlight travel retail-exclusive sparkling wines at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Blue Village F11).
The company will also feature rebranded offers from across its brand portfolio, which includes Mionetto, Henkell, Freixenet, Champagne Alfred Gartien, Bolney Wine Estates and Segura Viudas.
Henkell Freixenet Global Export Senior Vice President Sandra Janetzki said: “We are more than ready to see all our global travel retail customers in Cannes in October.
“Our travel retail sales performance has been growing steadily since travellers started returning post-pandemic and we were pleased with the channel performance in a still challenging environment. We are eager to meet industry partners and together continue to accelerate further our market share in global travel retail.

“At Cannes we will showcase a number of product exclusives, designed with travellers in mind. We want to maximise the premium opportunity in travel retail,” Janetzki added.
Henkell Freixenet’s focus will also be on new product developments including:
- Sekt: Henkell Brut Vintage Trex relaunch
- Prosecco: Mionetto prosecco DOCG Trex
- Cava: Freixenet Brut Vintage Reserva
- English sparkling wine: Bolney Wine Estate Classic Cuvée
- Champagne: Alfred Gartien Classic
- Spritz: Mionetto Aperitivo.
Henkell has rebranded to include an updated logo with an embossed Henkell lily on the label to offer a more contemporary look. The brand relaunch is accompanied by a 360-degree digital marketing campaign including social media, PR activities and POS promotions, events and an international roll-out.

Mionetto will introduce a new addition to the Italian spritz drinks market. Mionetto Aperitivo is a bittersweet herbal liqueur drink, said to mix well with Mionetto’s classic Prosecco. With 100% natural flavours, Mionetto Aperitivo combines sweet red oranges and liquorice with selected botanicals.
A Mionetto Spritz combo gift pack is available in global travel retail and includes the 500ml Mionetto Aperitivo and one bottle of Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso.
Channel-exclusive Mionetto Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Brut will continue to lead Henkell Freixenet’s premium Prosecco offer and is the group’s latest addition to the updated Luxury Collection. According to Henkell Freixenet, the collection showcases the Mionetto’s DNA, its winemaking excellence and the tradition of Venetian glass artists.
The Prestige Collection, with Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso and Prosecco Prosecco Rosé DOC, will also be featured.
Henkell Freixenet noted the strength of the Freixenet brand in travel retail, with a broader range of expressions available this year. With Cordon Negro and Carta Nevada Cavas as brand leaders, new innovations include Freixenet Prosecco, Italian and Spanish still wines.

Champagne Alfred Gratien, which was founded in Epernay in 1864, is set to extend its footprint in travel retail.
Earlier this year it revealed refreshed labels with a lighter coat of arms and new lettering. Alfred Gratien’s signature has been added to the lower part of the label to emphasise the brand’s authenticity.

Henkell Freixenet has made its debut in the English sparkling wine sector with Bolney Wine Estate, considered one of the pioneers in the country’s sparkling wine business.
The winery, located near Brighton, was founded in 1972 by Janet and Rodney Pratt and is now run by their daughter Samantha Linter. Its portfolio includes sparkling and still wines.
During the Cannes event, Henkell Freixenet will again champion Segura Viudas, a premium Cava brand with a long tradition and a clear approach to sustainable wine making. Following its relaunch in 2021 – and success on the domestic market in 2022 – the brand’s focus is on expansion, underlining its organic wine brand positioning.
In the NoLo category Henkell Freixent has expanded its offer based on a steady demand for its 0.0% sparkling wine products.
Backed by a new Feel Free marketing campaign with a focus on the aromas of tropical and citrus fruits, Freixenet’s extended offer includes Freixenet 0.0% in white, rose and red expressions. Freixenet Alcohol-Free, Henkell Alcohol-Free and Henkell Alcohol-Free Rosé and Mionetto 0.0% are also highlighted.
