Highland Park unveils the second whisky in its Valhalla Collection

Highland Park has introduced the 15yo limited edition Highland Park Loki, in a continuation of the Valhalla Collection of four whiskies inspired by fabled Nordic gods.

Loki, a single malt bottled at 48.7%abv, follows last year’s release of the 16yo malt Highland Park Thor. Both editions are presented in the same Viking-inspired wooden frame.

Loki takes its name from the fabled Nordic god and brother of Thor, known for his mischief and treachery. Aged in traditional Spanish sherry casks as well as peated casks the light coloured malt offers a sweet spicy and smoky flavour, described by the distiller as “chameleon-like” and “enigmatic”.

Highland Park Global Marketing Manager Gerry Tosh commented: “Thor was the first of its kind, a true quality malt built around an individual’s personality. This proved massively successful and it sold out globally. Loki will continue to take Highland Park and The Valhalla Collection into new territory.

“While everyone will recognise the definite “˜Highland Park-ness’ of this 15yo single malt, it will be the unexpected and surprisingly smoky dynamics that will really get palates excited and mouths talking,” he said.

Loki will be available in specialist retailers and at the Highland Park visitors centre, carrying an RRP of £130.
