MALAYSIA. A piece of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)’s history has been given a charming new lease of life.
The KLIA aerotrain, which once ferried passengers between the airport’s Contact Pier and Satellite Building, has been transformed into the new Train Café at the airport’s Long Term Car Park (LTCP).

The innovative concept repurposes a nostalgic symbol of the airport’s past into a cosy dining space, blending history with contemporary hospitality.
Inside, visitors can enjoy local delights from various vendors, including Sarawak coffee, laksa, kunafa, kuih, kuih akok and keria.

The Train Café offers more than just food and drink; it also has a special perk. Parking for the first hour at LTCP is complimentary with minimal spend in the café, making it a convenient stop for travellers and locals alike.
Malaysia Airports Marketing Communications Manager Norhazrina Abdul Hamid said: “A simple idea, but such a beautiful way to repurpose something that is part of our airport’s history. It feels familiar yet fresh, the kind of spot you would want to linger at whether for a quick bite or a coffee catch up.”
