HMSHost opens popular Canadian dining concept at Toronto Pearson

CANADA. Global travel food & beverage specialist HMSHost has unveiled downtown concept Swiss Chalet at Toronto Pearson International Airport Terminal 1.

The new pre-security outlet is the brand’s second location at Toronto Pearson, following the success of the Terminal 3 location, and joins HMSHost’s 30-strong portfolio of restaurants at the airport.

“We are excited to have another Swiss Chalet location at Toronto Pearson for our guests to enjoy,” said Greater Toronto Airports Authority Vice President of Guest and Terminal Services Pamela Griffith-Jones.

“We know our guests are looking for recognisable brands when dining at the airport and the popular Swiss Chalet brand fits this bill perfectly. Now our guests in both terminals at Toronto Pearson will be able to enjoy this great restaurant. Airport Swiss Chalet locations use the same menus and pricing as other Swiss Chalet locations in the area.”

Swiss Chalet Marketing Vice President Doug Milne added: “We are thrilled that all airport travellers coming into and departing out of Toronto Pearson can now enjoy a piece of Canadian history with our famous Rotisserie Chicken dishes and signature flavours.”

Founded in 1954, there are over 200 Swiss Chalet locations across Canada.

Swiss Chalet’s signature offer is its fresh rotisserie chicken made using Grade A Canadian chickens which are slow-roasted for 90 minutes on site.

The most popular menu item is the Quarter Chicken Dinner featuring slow-roasted rotisserie chicken with Chalet dipping sauce, a white or multi-grain roll and a choice of a side dish, including fries, mashed potatoes, oven-baked potatoes and a fresh vegetable medley. Other menu highlights include the Double Leg Dinner, Half Chicken Dinner, Chicken Pot Pie, Smoky BBQ Ribs, and a variety of sandwiches.

“HMSHost is proud to help bring such a well-known and loved Canadian franchise to the travellers at Toronto Pearson International Airport,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Renee Tedesco.

“Bringing a second Swiss Chalet location to Toronto Pearson will allow even more travellers to have the chance to see why the restaurant has remained a local favourite for over 50 years.”
