SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group (CAG) has described the World of Wines & Spirits (WOWS) Signature Event held on 11 and 12 October in partnership with Lotte Duty Free as “a resounding success”.
As reported, the event was hosted at the National Gallery Singapore (The Moodie Davitt Report attended the event, see our earlier report here and The Moodie Blog here).
This year’s WOWS theme, ‘Artistic Alchemy of Wines & Spirits’, celebrates the transformative fusion of art and premium, rare fine liquors.
CAG described the event as “offering an extraordinary experience where the meticulous craftsmanship of winemaking and spirits distillation converges with visual, sensory and creative expression”.
The Signature Event welcomed over 600 distinguished guests, including local celebrities Ayden Sng, Christopher Lee,and Fann Wong.
WOWS showcased an expansive selection of over 100 premium and rare fine liquors from 66 renowned brands.
The most expensive bottle sold was The Macallan Horizon at S$66,800 (US$51,000), a collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors designed to highlight the two houses’ respective mastery in single malt whisky and automotive design.
Other notable bottles sold included The Dalmore Cask Curation II at S$61,000 (US$47,000); Hibiki 40 Year Old (S$60,000/US$46,000) and Louis XIII The Legacy S$25,500 (US$19,500).
Guests enjoyed an immersive multi-sensorial experience, with each zone dedicated to a key category — from single malt whiskies and Cognac to wines and sakes.
In the Glass Room, rare and fine spirits – served as a canvas for what CAG called “unparalleled artistry” – were elegantly displayed in individual vitrines designed to evoke luxury and refinement.
The sake zone was inspired by traditional Japanese architecture while the wines section featured the grandeur of Greek architecture.
The evening culminated in a groundbreaking theatrical performance that married the beauty of classical ballet with cutting-edge technology.
The dancers’ movements, synchronised with violin compositions, fused with digital projections to create a symbolism of triumph, unity and the spirit of creation.
CAG said the event exemplified the company’s leadership in the wines & spirits category, showcasing am unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for consumers.
CAG commented: “By offering innovative solutions that cater to the growing demand for premium and personalised offerings, the event enriched the duty-free shopping landscape.
“It not only celebrated the rich diversity of wines & spirits but also deepened appreciation for the craftsmanship and artistry behind these fine and rare liquors.”
Unsold items will continue to be available for purchase on the WOWS online portal (wows.changiairport.com) from now until December. ✈
