Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Duty Free Global from Ireland, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

AUSTRALIA. Today’s image comes from Brisbane Airport whose annual Lost Property Auction has raised A$160,000 (US$107,000) for charity, smashing the previous record of A$90,000 (US$60,000).
Proceeds from the auction will support a range of charitable causes, including The Courier-Mail Children’s Fund.
The auction featured hundreds of objects left behind by the 24 million passengers who passed through Brisbane Airport’s terminals last year.
Despite the airport’s effort to reunite owners with their belongings, many items remain unclaimed well beyond the standard holding period — and so are given a second life in the name of charity.
In addition, the auction also included a selection of heritage aviation items to mark Brisbane Airport’s 100th anniversary. Click here for our story on passenger traffic performance in 2025.
The success of Brisbane Airport’s Lost Property Auction proves that even ordinary, forgotten items can make an extraordinary impact. ✈
