MALAYSIA. Today’s selection comes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia, which has welcomed a blooming installation called Rimba.
Located within the Satellite Building at KLIA Terminal 1, Rimba is a multi-sensorial exhibition that introduces a moment of calm to the terminal.

Lush tropical plants, colourful animal recreations, veils of mist and immersive digital screens feature throughout Rimba which celebrates Malaysia’s rich flora and fauna.
Highlights include interpretations of the rhinoceros hornbill, the national bird of Malaysia, and the Rafflesia arnoldii. The Rafflesia arnoldii, also known as the corpse flower for its pungent aroma, is a rare parasitic plant native to Southeast Asia.

Travellers can also take photos in front of a small waterfall, or relax in one of many benches, tree canopies, completing the tranquil forest experience.
As airports place greater emphasis on wellbeing and sense of place, Rimba stands as a creative celebration of Malaysia’s natural identity, encountered not beyond the airport, but within it. ✈
