CAMBODIA. Today’s evocative images not only practically leap off the page for their vibrancy but also showcase the magnificent new Techo International Airport – inaugurated on 20 October by Prime Minister Hun Manet – and fellow Cambodian gateway Sihanouk International Airport

The images show how both airports – controlled by Cambodia Airports – are celebrating Bon Om Touk (or Cambodia Water Festival), which runs from 4 to 6 November.
Techo International Airport is Cambodia’s largest aviation infrastructure project and one of the world’s biggest airports by land area.

Both airports are welcoming travellers with a flurry of festive decorations and cultural showcases to highlight the spirit of this key occasion in the Cambodian calendar.

Bon Om Touk is a celebration of the end of the rainy season on the full moon of the Buddhist month of Kadeuk.
Spiritually, it represents a giving of thanks to two mighty waterways, which provide the country with fertile farming land and abundant fish. The festival marks a reversal of the flow between the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. Just as Techo International and Sihanouk International represent the constant flow of humanity in and out of this great nation. ✈
