Images of the Day: Plaza Chile delivers powerful Sense of Place at Santiago Airport

Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature Gin from New Zealand, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

CHILE. Nuevo Pudahuel, operator of Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, and acclaimed destination retail specialist Morpho Travel Experience this week inaugurated Plaza Chile, the newly completed 570sq m commercial esplanade in Terminal 2. These images supplied to us by Morpho form our latest Images of the Day collection.

Plaza Chile is a showcase for 50 local entrepreneurs and offers a place to market their products.

A showcase for Chile: The Plaza project, which has been running for much of the past two years, comes to life in the International Terminal

The design is inspired by the city of Santiago’s main squares. Alongside multiple destination retail stores the space features two screens that show highlights of the Chilean visitor experience, delivered in association with Marca Chile.

A proud day for Nuevo Pudahuel, Morpho Travel Experience and Marca Chile, whose combined teams are pictured in the images above and below

Leading the inauguration ceremony on 2 April were Nuevo Pudahuel General Manager Nicolas Claude, Morpho Travel Experience CEO Adriana Echandi and Nuevo Pudahuel Commercial Director David Dufros. ✈
