TURKEY. Imperial Tobacco, in partnership with ATÜ/Heinemann, has opened a new 38.5sq m Davidoff Airport Lounge at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport. This replaces the previous Black & White Lounge installed in 2007.
As tobacco advertising and promotion are banned in Turkey, the lounge was created to tell its own story through the use of premium quality black glass and white fittings, Imperial Tobacco said. All Davidoff Premium lines are highlighted within the display area, both along the back wall and with front free-standing gondolas.
“Istanbul duty free is one of Imperial tobacco’s leading sales outlets worldwide within the category, and this display area is set within one of the largest retail shops in the world,” said Imperial Tobacco Global Duty Free Marketing Manager Oliver Schramm.

“For us, it was therefore very important to support our retail partner ATÜ/Heinemann with the very best quality display area for Davidoff. We are certainly very appreciative of the wonderful space and location they have given us.”
The new Davidoff Airport Lounge at Istanbul Airport is the first of many new initiatives from Imperial Tobacco for 2011.
Schramm added: “We’ve got a very busy year planned with a number of new special editions, new gwp activities, and – as always – truly stunning, dynamic and original consumer targeted promotions.”
Imperial Tobacco will be present at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next month (Stand number: Golden Village GO6).
