With deep sadness we report the passing of David Tillman, a popular and much-respected member of the travel retail community, who lost a difficult three-year battle with illness earlier this week.
David had managed to recover sufficiently to see many colleagues at this year’s Summit of the Americas in April.
New York-based, David started his career with Elizabeth Arden in 1981, holding various sales and marketing positions before being appointed Director of Sales and Marketing Nordic Area in 1987 and later General Manager Nordic Area in 1993.
He went on to spearhead the development of Cosmopolitan Cosmetics’ North American travel retail business before it became part of P&G. David co-founded the Beauty2Market consultancy in 2002, joined ManCave Grooming as Managing Director Americas in 2014 and more recently was a partner in Copenhagen-based Blue travel retail consultancy.
David’s funeral is scheduled for Sunday in Larchmont, New York. His family has set up a web site for family members and friends to share memories, comments and pictures. It can be accessed here.
The Moodie Davitt Report joins with David’s many friends in the travel retail community in expressing our sorrow and deepest condolences to his family.
