A cabin crew member who attended ISPY 2010 returned to this year’s event as a travel retail supplier.
ISPY 2011, the annual cabin crew training programme organised by Travel Retail Training Ltd, provided KC’s Books ‘n Stuff, a proprietary publishing company, the long-awaited opportunity to launch into the retail travel market.
Founder and owner Kathryn Moore wrote, designed and produced Our Flight, a children’s activity book specially for the travel market.
Our Flight takes its young readers on an airplane trip. Aimed at children aged 3 to 11, it is written in narrative rhyme, illustrated in colouring book style and contains a variety of engaging inflight activities. The book retails at €7/US$10.

“Life-altering, empowering experience”
Moore was selected to be part of the Aer Lingus team for ISPY 2010 representing North America and the rest of the world.
Commenting on her attendance at the event, Moore explained that “this life-altering, empowering experience was the catalyst for returning to ISPY 2011 as a sponsor.”
At this year’s event, held in November 2011, she gave an inspirational speech on her journey over the past 12 months.
“I feel very proud to have launched my own company and I am delighted to have received encouraging feedback regarding listings from concessionaires and two major airlines,” she said.
ISPY Founder Christine Martin added: “It gives me the greatest pleasure to see any of the world’s greatest selling cabin crew maximise their potential having competed at ISPY. Kathryn has taken her product idea and turned it into a very marketable product. This takes courage, ambition and determination, qualities that I admire enormously.

Moore is currently flying domestic routes for a US carrier and is focusing on the growth of her company, KC’s Books ‘n Stuff.
