ISRAEL. The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has called a tender for two sports goods stores at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport Terminal 3.
The contract will run for a seven-year term (beginning on 1 January 2012) with the option at the authority’s discretion to renew for a further period of no longer than 29 months.
The incumbent is the James Richardson-MGS Limited partnership. The concession covers two stores, one in the duty free area, plus one in the Buy & Bye Shopping Mall, the IAA told The Moodie Report.
The highest financial bidder for the concession will win, noted the IAA. Entry is restricted to companies that have experience of operating duty free and/or sports goods stores within or outside Israel, with turnover exceeding ILS$50 million (US$14.7 million) in 2009-2010.
Tender documents can be found at the IAA site, www.iaa.gov.il, or at the office of the Trade & Business Development Department at Ben Gurion Airport (main building, first floor) from 11 July until 14 August.
A participation fee of ILS15,000 (US$4,400) can be paid between the above dates to the IAA, with an airport tour taking place on 21 July. The final date for submissions is 15 August.
The IAA representative for enquiries is Mr. Ofir Klein, who can be reached at ofirk@iaa.gov.il
