
SPAIN. JD Wetherspoon has made its international debut with the opening of a pub at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail.
Named Castell de Santa Bàrbera, the new dining venue is set to open in January at the airside departures area, operating seven days a week from 6am to 9pm.
The 93sq m space features an external terrace with customer seating.

The venue will offer nearly 93sq m of single-level customer space, complemented by an external terrace with additional seating.
The menu offers a range of dishes from its UK locations, including breakfast dishes, burgers and pizzas, together with local highlights such as garlic prawns and Spanish omelette.
Wetherspoon Founder And Chairman Tim Martin said: “We are very much looking forward to opening our first overseas pub. We believe it will be popular with people travelling home from Alicante Airport.
“We aim to open a number of pubs overseas in the coming months and years, including those at airports.”
