USA. Jersey Mike’s Subs is collaborating with over 200 local US charities in its 13th annual ‘Month of Giving’ fundraising campaign.
Customers are encouraged to ‘eat a sub and help a local cause’ with special deals announced each week on social media. Donations to listed charities, which include hospitals, youth organisations and food banks, can also be made through the Jersey Mike’s app or onsite.
Aiming to break last year’s total of US$20 million, the Month of Giving is supported by popular American actor Danny DeVito (see the video below).
The campaign includes a nationwide ‘Day of Giving’ on 29 March when local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators will donate 100% of sales to their chosen charities.
The first nationwide fundraiser in 2011 raised US$600,000 for 66 charities. Since then, Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving has raised over US$67 million.
Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO Peter Cancro said: “I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100% percent of sales – every penny – goes to help a great local cause.”
