INDONESIA. Juanda International Airport in Surabaya has announced the first phase of the commercial tender for its new Terminal 2. Incheon Airport Consulting is advising on the project.
In November the airport will showcase what is described as “a brand new airport concession offer created to add upgraded shopping and dining”. This offer, together with “skyrocketing” passenger numbers will bolster commercial revenues, it said.

The duty free package for international airside departures is divided into three lots, of 222sq m, 166sq m and 64sq m, respectively. It incorporates liquor & tobacco, travel accessories, fashion/cosmetics/fragrances, leather goods and promotions.
The retail tender is also divided into several packages. Tender RT1 in the T2-1F central area is for travel accessories and covers 100sq m. RT2, located in the T2-2F domestic departures area, is for liquor & tobacco, and covers 70sq m. RT3, in the same location, is for fashion accessories, cosmetics & fragrances, and covers 397sq m. Tender RT4 (125sq m) is for the same categories, but located in the T2-1F central area. RT5, in T2-2F domestic departures, is a 70sq m packaged foods concession, as is RT6 (96sq m and 141sq m), located in international departures T2-2F and T2-1F, respectively.
RT7 is for a 141sq m convenience store in T2-1F. RT8 is for two books and kids stores (40sq m and 81sq m) located in T2-2F domestic departures and T2-2F international departures, respectively. Lastly, RT9 is for a 45sq m pharmacy in the T2-2F domestic departures area.

The new T2 building is designed to provide a modern atmosphere and an exciting new experience for passengers, according to the airport authority. It will feature wide-open space, a natural lighting roof and passenger-focused conveniences such as a shower room and entertainment facilities.
Juanda International Airport T2 can accommodate six million passengers per annum and will handle Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, Mandala Airlines and all international flights.
