Pernod Ricard and Ever Rich Duty Free open world’s first Aberlour boutique at Taoyuan International

ASIA PACIFIC. Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail and Ever Rich Duty Free have partnered to open the world’s first Aberlour boutique at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1.

The move is the latest big investment around the single malt brand, following a packaging update, the launch of its trio of travel retail-exclusive whiskies and its high-profile ‘Everything Considered’ campaign this year.

The 350sq ft store blends heritage, storytelling and a full range of Aberlour malts with an immersive consumer experience.

It was opened with a theatrical ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured a lion dance on 27 August, with Ever Rich President Kevin Chiang and Pernod Ricard GTR CEO Laurent Pillet in attendance.

Chiang and Pillet spoke to the strength of their partnership in achieving a world-first brand store for Aberlour and the product journey their teams have created for travellers, before toasting the success of the boutique and leading a tour of the space.

Echoing the June activation at Taipei Airport, which marked the start of the new-look Aberlour’s global roll-out in travel retail, the boutique is dressed in accordance with the updated brand visual identity.

It features red to represent Aberlour’s distillery oak doors, the beige of Scottish barley fields and the warm gold of Aberlour’s amber liquid.

Travellers are welcomed into the store with a wish tree at the entrance, where they can post their wishes for good luck and prosperity.

A range of stamps is available to personalise the wish cards depicting symbols of everyday Taiwanese life. Visitors are offered the opportunity to taste a dram from the Aberlour range, paired with sweet pineapple cake, a local delicacy.

The traveller journey of discovery allows access to the 2025 travel retail-exclusive range: Aberlour 13 Year Old Double Cask Matured, Aberlour 16 Year Old Double Charred Selection and Aberlour Suthainn Double Sherry Cask Solera.

Also available are the sought-after Small Batch 15 Year Old and the Small Batch 17 Year Old, which has a limited availability of just 300 bottles.

Pernod Ricard GTR and Aberlour have also developed a pipeline of innovations, which will appear on sale in the boutique over the coming months.

Laurent Pillet commented: “I was delighted to be a part of this special launch event and to see in person the embodiment of Aberlour’s craft spirit expertly presented with a local Taiwanese twist. This stunning boutique is a bold statement of our ambition to accelerate Aberlour’s presence in Asia and bring our vision for the brand to life in a way that is truly global. Each quarter of the store will bring something new to discover, something remarkable to share and I can’t wait to see how it is received by shoppers.”

Kevin Chiang added: “We are happy to celebrate the world’s first Aberlour Boutique here at Taoyuan International Airport with our long-standing partner Pernod Ricard. At Ever Rich, we are committed to making the airport a true cultural gateway.

“This boutique beautifully combines Aberlour’s craftsmanship and heritage with the warmth of Taiwanese culture, offering global travellers a unique experience. We look forward to continuing this partnership and bringing even more exciting moments to travellers in the future.”
