ITALY. Lagardère Travel Retail Italia has opened Discover Sicily, a destination merchandise and gourmet foods store at Palermo Falcone-Borsellino Airport.
The food offer highlights typical products of the island including cannoli, cassata and almond biscuits, pasta and sauces, plus other delicacies.
Other craft products include ceramics from Caltagirone, local coffee (bags in hand-woven dwarf palm leaf), handmade jewellery with hand-painted ceramics, lava from Etna and semi-precious stones.
The retailer said on LinkedIn: “In the land of food and craftmanship, typical Sicilian products were born thanks to the fusion of tradition, creativity and authenticity. This is precisely the core offer of this new store that has just been inaugurated.”
As reported, Lagardère Travel Retail Italia recently opened Scirocco, a Sicilian gourmet food concept, at Catania Fontanarossa Airport.
