GERMANY. Lagardère Travel Retail has won the electronics tender for Gate Z Non-Schengen at Frankfurt Airport, where the retailer will introduce three Tech2go stores.

This expansion brings the company’s Tech2go network in Germany to ten stores.

The new shops, encompassing more than 200sq m will be located in the non-Schengen area of Terminal 1/Z.

Lagardère Travel Retail pledged to offer the optimal mix of electronics for travel, leisure, and business, precisely tailored to the needs of Frankfurt Airport travellers.

“We are delighted to expand our brand presence in the retail sector at Frankfurt Airport with our electronics format, Tech2go, standing alongside Relay, Hub Convenience, Eyelove, and Discover Germany,” said Lagardère Travel Retail Germany CEO Jochen Halfmann.

“We also greatly appreciate the trust placed in us through our long-standing relationship with Fraport AG.

Tech2go will offer an exclusive selection of brands and products, innovative store design, and excellent service, immersing guests in a world of experiences they can hear, touch, and try, Lagardère Travel Retail Germany said.

The company said it will offer a perfect combination of in-store entertainment and service-oriented expertise to create a customer-friendly and interactive shopping experience for visitors of all ages and budgets.

In the flagship Tech2go store, the largest of the three, guests can discover the latest technology, accessories, and gadgets while relaxing in a Bang & Olufsen lounge. Brands on offer include JBL, Samsung, Sennheiser and Apple.

“It was important for us to offer a highly innovative, customer-oriented, and, at the same time, very high-quality range of products in the three areas for electronics in our international departure area Z Non-Schengen,” said Fraport Chief Representative of Retail and Rental Management Karl-Heinz Dietrich.

“The Tech2go concept has convinced us, and we are sure that our guests will appreciate the wide range of products.”

Lagardère Travel Retail will take over the retail space in the first quarter of 2024. As a result Lagardère Travel Retail will run Tech2go stores at four top airports in Germany – Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. ✈
