Lancôme Homme offers more Control – 03/08/04

FRANCE. Lancôme has extended its men’s skincare range, Lancôme Homme – which was launched last summer (The Moodie Report.com, 30 June 2003) – with a new Mat Control collection.

The products will be available in European travel retail from September, and in the US from November. The Asian roll-out will take place in June 2005.

According to Lancôme, about 17% of men have oily skin, and more than one-third of them are concerned by the problem of “oily” patches on the forehead and nose. Consequently, the company has added to its specialist Tough Beards, Sensitive Skin, Anti-Age and Anti-Fatigue programmes with the new Mat Control collection.

The trio of products comprises a Face Cleansing Gel (€13.5), a 24HR Long Lasting Anti-Shine Action Moisturizer (€22), and Cool & Mat Refreshing Anti-Shine Towelettes (price to be confirmed).

The gel, presented in a 100ml tube, is claimed to cleanse deep down, unclog pores and help keep skin free from impurities. The moisturiser, packaged in a 50ml tube, claims to be a dual action hydrating and mattifying treatment. It contains micro-beads of silica to capture sebum.

The Cool & Mat Face Towelettes are ideal for on-the-go use, as they are presented in portable sachets, each containing 10 towelettes. These are impregnated with a Cool Effect perfumed lotion and enriched with Sweat-Absorberâ„¢ mattifying powder and, according to Lancôme, can actually bring down the skin’s temperature by as much as 1.5° C.

Lancôme has also added roll-on and stick deodorants to its Lancôme Homme range. Their recommended travel retail price point is €13.50.
