Earlier this year Lancôme celebrated the first anniversary of its ultra-premium anti-ageing treatment, Absolue L’Extrait, via a partnership with Maison Baccarat, to create the Absolue L’Extrait Black Crystal Light Edition.
Only 800 limited-edition, numbered Baccarat black crystal jars were available worldwide, of which 38 were earmarked for Asia Pacific travel retail. Over three days in July and August, two events were held to showcase the products to DFS Platinum Service Club members, at Hong Kong Sun Plaza and DFS Macau Four Seasons.

Guests were given a professional skin diagnosis, followed by a tailored product recommendation. They were then treated to a hand and arm massage with Absolue L’Extrait Cream, followed by a facial massage in a semi-private facial room. This was followed by a make-over by international make-up artist Vic Tu.
At the end of the three days, 28 pieces of the Absolue L’Extrait Black Crystal Light Edition were sold, at a retail price of HKD12,800 (US$1,651) each.
Described as “the ultimate regenerating elixir”, Absolue L’Extrait is said to be the most effective anti-ageing cream ever developed by Lancôme researchers.
The formula combines stem cell research and cutting-edge plant biology. The key component is a new active ingredient – Lancôme Rose stem cells – obtained through an exclusive biotechnological process. These rose cells are claimed to be capable of stimulating human dermal stem cells, which are found in the deepest layers of the skin, and play an essential role in the renewal of the fundamental layers of the dermis.
