Balmain Beauty (The Estée Lauder Companies) has launched its debut prestige fragrance Destin de Balmain. The launch is an important expansion for Balmain Beauty as the house continues to translate its fashion codes into fragrance and cosmetics.
As reported, The Estée Lauder Companies and Balmain entered into a license agreement to collaboratively develop, produce and distribute an innovative line of beauty products under the banner Balmain Beauty in 2022. The partners launched the house’s first fragrance collection, Les Éternels de Balmain, in 2024.
A floral fruity eau de parfum, Destin de Balmain is described as capturing the “independent, youthful and unapologetic spirit” of the Balmain woman. It is available in a 10ml travel spray and 30ml, 50ml, 100ml and 150ml formats.
The refillable fragrance, crafted by Perfumer Quentin Bisch, centres on the theme ‘Live Your Destiny’. It opens with vibrant, naturally sourced strawberry notes, contrasted by spicy Baies rose and peony which adds creamy lychee facets.
It features a lily accord heart note enhanced by spicy Akigalawood. The base comprises a sandalwood accord and smooth patchouli, combined with Ambrexolide, which lends a musky, second-skin warmth to the base.
Highlighting the composition’s energetic character, Bisch said: “Destin de Balmain features a joyful, optimistic spark of ripe strawberry.
“The fruit’s juicy vivacity brings bright, elevated sweetness to the composition. Notes of peony further convey the feeling of rosy fullness, and notes of creamy sandalwood anchor the fragrance in strength and luminosity. It has an irresistible electric energy.”
Destin de Balmain is housed in a refillable glass cube. The flacon features golden striations and the PB monogram engraved across each side, forming the House’s signature Labyrinth motif in three dimensions.
The bottle features clear glass and gold rendering to reflect the architectural codes of the fashion house and the luminous character of the fragrance itself. ✈
