L’Oréal brings blockbuster portfolio to Wangfujing Duty Free

Wangfujing Group and Wangfujing Duty Free executives join with L’Oréal Travel Retail China management to celebrate the partnership

CHINA. L’Oréal Travel Retail has introduced 16 brands to Wangfujing International Duty-Free Harbour City in Wanning, Hainan province.

The French beauty house and Wangfujing Duty Free celebrated the occasion on 26 July with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 26 July.

The inauguration was graced by Wangfujing Group Vice President and Wangfujing Duty Free Deputy General Manager Zeng Qun; L’Oréal Travel Retail China General Manager Zhang Yi and fellow executives from both groups.

In a speech at the ceremony, Zeng Qun said the cooperation between the two companies coincides with the rapid development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. She said Wangfujing Group is also facing a critical period of upgrading the consumer market and transforming its retail business.

As a result, the group has grasped travel retail’s “golden development period”, vigorously developed the duty free business, and continuously enhanced Wangfujing International Duty-Free Harbour City, she commented.

Wangfujing Duty Free said that besides being the partners’ first collaboration, the project also represents an important milestone in terms of omnichannel co-operation.

The group brands include Lancôme, Kiehl’s, Helena Rubinstein, L’Oréal Paris, Maison Margiela, Shu Uemura, Kérastase, and other beauty and fragrance labels. The offer includes several new concepts representing “both a new beginning and a new challenge”, Wangfujing Duty Free said.

In addition to selecting high-quality brands from around the world, Wangfujing International Duty-Free Harbour City also focuses on customers’ needs and provides uninterrupted “butler-like” personalised shopping services, the retailer said.

Hainan consumers can now expect an enriched shopping experience at Wangfujing Duty Free as the partnership with L’Oréal helps drive the prosperous development of Hainan’s travel retail market, the company added. ✈
