SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has launched an online liquor exhibition, showcasing its extensive portfolio of spirits brands.
The leading travel retailer said it has secured a total of 1,200 world-renowned liquor products, the largest array of duty free wines & spirits in the Korean market to date.
In July last year, it opened an online wines & spirits store following the government’s decision to allow ecommerce duty free liquor sales.
With Koreans accounting for 80% of its online sales, Lotte Duty Free will meet the rising demand for liquor with a variety of products.
The exhibition includes recommendations for popular products categorised by price range, from the most affordable to luxury brands priced at US$1,000 or more.
The liquor line-up includes Jack Daniel’s and Maker’s Mark, which are recommended for gifting, as well as Chivas Regal 18 Year Old and Balvenie Classic for first-time whisky drinkers.

The showcase also offers single malts such as Glenfiddich 18 Year Old and Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve, as well as Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique and Royal Salute 21 Year Old.
High-end whisky brands Ballantine’s 30 Year Old and Johnnie Walker King George V are also highlighted in the exhibition.
The travel retailer will be providing shoppers with category-specific points of up to US$55 per purchase, as well as a -55% discount on popular brands. More details about the special exhibition are available at Lotte Duty Free’s online shop.
The online exhibition will feature the exclusive debut of Japanese sake brand Dassai in March.
South Korea has seen a continued demand for sake, with imports increasing year-on-year by +12.6% in 2023, according to Korea Customs Service.

Lotte Duty Free Head of Product Division Lee Seung-guk said: “With online sales of alcohol at duty free shops and expansion of duty free limits on alcohol, sales of domestic alcohol are becoming more active and convenient.
“Lotte Duty Free is responding quickly to rapidly changing alcohol trends and providing products preferred by domestic and foreign customers. We plan to continue to strengthen our mainstream lineup.” ✈
