SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has launched a promotion on its LDF BUY website for dry health and wellness foods with discounts of up to -55%.
The move comes as demand soars for such products in the COVID-19 pandemic era, with the travel retailer reporting a rise of +82.8% for the category on the LDF BUY website in Q4 2021.

Lotte noted that demand for health and wellness products is fuelled by a changing health care focus, from treatment to prevention. It said consumers are seeking health-related foods that help to improve immunity and help prevent aging.
Lotte Duty Free launched the overseas direct sourcing online mall LDF BUY through its Australian subsidiary in June last year to create a new business model amid COVID-19.

The travel retailer reported that in December sales of health and wellness products nearly doubled compared to the previous month thanks to a year-end discount promotion.
The latest promotion runs to 31 January, and features products such as Omega 3 and vitamins from global brands such as Blackmores, GNC and Natural Life, featuring discounts of up to -55%.
A Lotte Duty Free official said: “I hope this promotion will be a good opportunity for customers who are preparing gifts ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays.”
