Louis Vuitton boutique brings luxury lustre to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

“The arrival of Louis Vuitton is a major milestone for Schiphol. Lounge 2 is the shopping area for intercontinental travellers and is considered one of the most beautiful places at Schiphol,” says Schiphol Chief Commercial Officer Arthur Reijnhart

THE NETHERLANDS. Louis Vuitton has made its debut at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, opening a store in Lounge 2 on 27 May described by the airport company as a milestone in transforming the passenger experience.

“Schiphol is investing heavily to offer travellers a unique and improved experience at the airport,” said Schiphol Chief Commercial Officer Arthur Reijnhart.

“The entire commercial offering is being revamped: we are substantially improving the food & beverage offering; the duty-free shops are being refurbished; and in the luxury segment we are opening beautiful new stores with the best brands in the world. In this way, we are transforming Schiphol into a home port for world travellers.”

Reijnhart added, “The arrival of Louis Vuitton is a major milestone for Schiphol. Lounge 2 is the shopping area for intercontinental travellers and is considered one of the most beautiful places at Schiphol.

“The opening of the stunningly designed Louis Vuitton store is the first in a series of new store openings in Lounge 2 that our travellers will see in the coming period. We are extremely pleased that the intensive collaboration with Louis Vuitton has led to this unique result.”

A voyage of discovery

The 200sq m-plus store is characterised by a modern design that reflects Louis Vuitton’s commitment to elegance and innovation, the airport company said.

The luxury environment offers a welcoming atmosphere where travellers can discover the brand’s renowned collections, from travel ranges and leathergoods to accessories, shoes and fragrances.

Upon entering, travellers encounter a selection of artwork, including a colourful totem by Florencia Vual (Galerie Glustin) that incorporates work by Dutch artist Hadassa Emmerich.

Up close and personal

To mark the store opening, Louis Vuitton is introducing a new and exclusive stamp design that allows travellers to personalise their leathergoods purchases, such as passport cases.

“Just as visa stamps recall destinations, this personal touch makes for a special collectible item for the modern globetrotter,” Schiphol said.
