Areas Iberia’s Nuria Molera crowned champion in 2026 Worldwide Challenge final

INTERNATIONAL. Areas has named Areas Iberia’s Nuria Molera as the winner of its annual Worldwide Challenge, following yesterday’s (12 February) Grand Final staged at the company’s global headquarters in Barcelona.

Molera works for Areas in food & beverage across train stations in Barcelona, where she leads teams with a focus on operational performance and engagement.

The final marked the culmination of several months of internal competition across Areas’ international business units, bringing together leading operations professionals from around the world.

The Areas Worldwide Challenge is described by the company as a strategic initiative designed to reinforce operational excellence and support talent development across its global network.

During the final, country representatives presented their management capabilities, operational standards and team leadership, competing for the overall title.

Overall winner Molera has more than 30 years’ industry experience, having held senior operational roles across multiple Spanish locations on behalf of Areas, including Málaga Airport and Menorca Airport.

The Grand Final also featured the following Areas regional winners:

  • Areas Italy: Francesco Abbà, Store Manager at San Zenone Est Motorway travel plaza.
  • Areas USA: Chris Robertson, Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport.
  • Areas Germany: Shi Ya Ku, Alexa Shopping Center – Kamps.
  • Areas LATAM: Nacho Nuñez, Airport Manager, Los Cabos, Mexico.
  • Areas France: Pascal Kluijtmans and Emmanuelle Niss, Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts.
