CANADA. LS travel retail North America has secured a speciality retail concession at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to operate a store from leading fashion and housewares retailer The Hudson’s Bay Trading Company in the international terminal.

The 1,040sq ft Hudson Bay Trading Post will open in March 2013, offering a selection of fashion and home accessories from North America’s oldest commercial company. The Hudson’s Bay Company Collection includes everything from artisanal candles to classic sweaters, inspired by the company’s unrivalled 342-year history.

LS travel retail North America Chief Development Officer Vadim Motlik said: “We are very pleased to bring the Hudson’s Bay Company brand to the airport. YVR is a long-time partner and we are glad to continue supporting them to create exciting experiences and a unique sense of place for their passengers.”

Hudson’s Bay Company President Bonnie Brooks said: “This is another exciting milestone for us as we continue to offer new and unique shopping options and destinations. Opening our shop at Vancouver International Airport will provide an enhanced shopping experience to customers during their travels and gives everyone the chance to own a piece of iconic and stylish Canadian memorabilia.”

The store will be LS travel retail’s second venture with The Hudson’s Bay Company, following its recent opening at Toronto Pearson Airport’s Terminal 1.

The Hudson’s Bay Company is the parent company of The Bay department stores with flagship downtown stores in Canada’s biggest cities.
