SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free today announced plans to donate KRW20.23 million (US$16,217) to environmental protection causes as it launched a new year campaign to promote sustainable travel.
The retailer has partnered with popular group Aespa to create the latest in its LDF Original Series of short films, released today through Lotte Duty Free’s digital platforms. ‘Melody of the Stars’ features three episodes focused on stories of Aespa’s support for sustainable travel, in which the band members go on a stargazing trip to Australia.
Aespa members deliver messages about preserving the earth in four languages: Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.
The title of the film is taken from the song of the same name, which is used as background music in the video. This is the third film in the LDF Original Series, which began last October.
Alongside the donation to environmental causes, customers who purchase over a certain value of domestic products at Lotte Duty Free’s downtown stores in Korea (Seoul Myeong-dong and World Tower, Busan and Jeju) will receive a free Aespa poster while stocks last.
An official from Lotte Duty Free said, “Thanks to the great interest of global customers in the LDF Original Series, Lotte Duty Free has been able to make these donations. We will continue to take the lead in protecting the global environment and creating sustainable travel.”
