Misaka touches down at Auckland Airport in partnership with Aelia Duty Free

NEW ZEALAND. Premium Japanese whisky brand Misaka has made its New Zealand travel retail debut in partnership with Lagardère AWPL’s Aelia Duty Free at Auckland Airport.

As reported, Misaka was launched earlier this year by Hong Kong entrepreneur Harry Kartasis – founder of Global Drinks Limited.

Misaka is made for new whisky enthusiasts and consumers seeking premium and super-premium whiskies

The Misaka collection comprises seven “exceptional” whiskies that combine fine natural ingredients and time-honoured distillation techniques from Scotland and Japan.

The launch features the brand’s key range including a 3-5 Year Old Pure Malt, a 12 Year Old pure malt finished in PX Sherry Oloroso casks, and Misaka Mizunara Cask 12 Year Old, now available with the retailer.

For this launch, Global Drinks has partnered with JJ Management, a promotional and event agency specialising in both travel retail and domestic markets in Australia and New Zealand. ✈

In this Moodie Davitt STUDIO video interview (available in short and long form), Kartasis talks to The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie about his long-term desire to own his own brand; his love for Japanese whisky; and how a single SKU became a multiple age-statement assortment.
