Paul John and Bengaluru Duty Free extend airport-exclusive series with third single cask release

INDIA. John Distilleries’ Paul John Whisky has extended its Bengaluru Airport-exclusive range with a single cask expression in partnership with Bengaluru Duty Free (a joint venture between Bangalore International Airport Limited and Avolta).

The release combines a locally influenced flavour profile and compelling artwork, delivering a strong sense of place and shelf appeal

The limited-edition release is capped at 192 bottles. It is available at a recommended retail price of INR14,950 (US$159) per 70cl at the retailer’s departures store in Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2.

The expression marks the third instalment in the airport-exclusive series, offered as a rare collector’s item for whisky enthusiasts.

The whisky stands out for its distinctive single cask character, sourced entirely from one barrel rather than blended from multiple casks, delivering its signature flavour.

Distilled and aged in the tropical climate of Goa, the single malt features Paul John whiskies’ signature tropical maturation profile.

Bottled at 56% ABV, the whisky reveals a rich, deep gold colour, with aromas of dark fruits layered with caramel, vanilla and a hint of manuka honey, alongside notes of leather, tobacco and spiced orange cake.

The palate offers layers of dark chocolate, brown sugar and black cherry, enhanced by toasted nuts, vanilla and warm spices such as cinnamon and pepper.

The finish is long and refined, featuring oak tannins, vanilla cream, leather, dried fruits and cocoa notes.

The packaging showcases a nostalgic depiction of Commercial Street, one of the city’s most famed cultural landmarks, highlighting Bengaluru-themed craftsmanship by renowned artist Paul Fernandes, best known for his ‘Bangalore Pictorial’ illustrations.

This limited-edition release reflects Fernandes’ playful style and Bengaluru’s distinctive local charm, expressed in posters, maps, postcards and book illustrations.

John Distilleries Founder and Chairman Paul P John said, “Following the strong response to the first two editions, we are pleased to introduce the third edition of this special single cask release.

“These expressions are particularly meaningful as they capture the unique character of an individual cask.

“The limited release reflects the rich complexity that defines our single malt whisky, and we’re excited for travellers and whisky enthusiasts passing through Bengaluru to discover this unique expression.”
