INDIA. Mitti Café is set to receive the prestigious President’s Award in the Highest Category for Organisations Empowering Persons with Disabilities (Divyang Sashaktikaran Hetu Sarvshreshth Sansthan).
In a social media post, Mitti Café Founder and CEO Alina Alam said: “This recognition is more than an award; it is a testament to the strength, resilience and potential of each of our team members with disability who lead Mitti from the forefront.
“From our first tiny café to becoming the largest chain of cafés in the world to be run by adults with disabilities, to our team’s effort now being recognised through the honourable President’s Award, this journey has been one of love, belief and tireless work toward a more inclusive world.”
For developing a remarkable concept and commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities, Alam has also been honoured with the FAB Humanitarian Award 2024.
Mitti Café is a chain of cafés that are completely managed by adults with physical, intellectual and psychiatric challenges, with a presence in more than 40 locations across India, including several airports.
These include Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru; Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai); Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow); and Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace).
