Nanjing Lukou Airport expands duty-free offering following CNSC soft opening

Open for business: The Nanjing Lukou International Airport store opening is an important stepping stone for CNSC

CHINA. March 12 saw the soft opening of the CNSC duty-free shop at Nanjing Lukou International Airport, a key step in the travel retailer’s expansion efforts in eastern China.

Positioned at the core of Nanjing’s metropolitan zone and the Yangtze Economic Circle, Lukou International Airport – a 4F class airport – has an international passenger throughput of close to 4 million passengers.

The airport is connected to more than 30 destinations across Europe, the Americas, Oceania, and Asia, with 150 scheduled international routes.

The CNSC duty-free shop, located in the airport’s T2 international departure lounge, was jointly established by CNSC and Eastern Airports Group.

Its minimalist, understated interior houses various brand-name perfumes, makeup & skincare products, tobacco and wine & spirits. Other products, including jewellery, food, and an expanded range of makeup and skincare products, are expected to land in-store within the year.

CNSC said that in recent years it has been working to expand its omnichannel duty-free offering, focusing on Hainan, downtown, airport, overseas, and online operations. It currently boasts 30 outlets globally.

“In the future, CNSC Lukou Airport Duty Free Shop, leaning on the resource advantages of CNSC and Eastern Airports Group, will provide consumers with a high-quality, convenient, and speedy duty free shopping experience in line with its ‘trusted operations, top-notch service’ maxim,” CNSC commented. ✈
