Favarger Marketing Manager Claudia Jaermann preparing for the Avelines Earl Grey chocolate promotions

SWITZERLAND. Swiss chocolate manufacturer Chocolats & Cacaos Favarger is looking ahead to an era of international expansion under new leadership.

May 2008 saw the appointment of a new Managing Director, Jean-Baptiste Maugars. Maugars, who has worked with prestigious luxury brands including Giorgio Armani Perfumes, Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon and Rémy Martin, brings his expertise to help develop the Favarger brand in Switzerland and abroad, a company statement said.

On the travel retail front, current promotions include Avelines Earl Grey tea-flavoured chocolates, scheduled with Dufry for airports in Basel, Milan, Rome and Tunisia in June and July.

“Personalised gondola units are scheduled for the new terminals in Dubai and Egypt in the coming months,” said Favarger Marketing Manager Claudia Jaermann.

In Asia a new gondola unit was installed with King Power in April in Singapore Changi Airport’s new Terminal 3. “At the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore we also established new contacts with DFS Singapore for further listings, plus King Power in Thailand and Ever Rich in Taiwan,” said Jaermann.

“Favarger will be at Incheon Airport in South Korea from September 2008, and we also plan to open new markets in China,” she added.
