OTG and Delta open chef-driven seafood bar at LaGuardia Airport

USA. OTG Management this week opened seafood bar Minnow at Delta Air Lines’ LaGuardia Airport Terminal D.

The opening comes as part of OTG’s major food & beverage transformation at the airport’s Delta terminals.

Minnow’s menu, created by Chef Andrew Carmellini, features salads, sandwiches, sushi and fresh seafood including oysters and lobsters. The outlet joins a strong line-up of chef-driven concepts at the terminal, including collaborations with other acclaimed culinary names such as Michael Lomonaco, Jim Lahey, Jason Denton, Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr.

“Raising the stakes in airport hospitality”: Minnow is the latest step in OTG major food & beverage transformation at LaGuardia Airport

“Delta and OTG are raising the stakes in airport hospitality, we’re happy to be a part of taking this to the next level,” said Carmellini.

Delta Air Lines New York Senior Vice President Gail Grimmett added: “I know that our customers are going to love this new concept from Andrew Carmellini. With all of the amazing restaurants and the additional facility upgrades, including updated Delta Sky Clubs and the connector between our terminals C and D, we’ve put into LaGuardia there truly is something for everyone.”

The 385sq ft space includes bar seating for about more than a dozen guests, each space complemented by an iPad for ordering food and drink, tracking flights, and browsing the web.

Designed by ICRAVE the new outlet features a shimmering gold wall inspired by the reflective scales of a minnow. The hammered metal and copper layered panels are said to create a sweeping, wave-like motion across the length of the bar. Television screens are built into a media strip that lines the back wall with a mirror anchored at the centre, tilted 90 degrees to reflect the fresh seafood available at the raw bar.

“It is such a great pleasure to partner with Chef Andrew Carmellini and ICRAVE again,” said OTG Chief Executive Rick Blatstein. “The menu for Minnow is a wonderful fit for travel: fresh, seasonal and sustainable; while the atmosphere is vibrant and engaging.”
