OTG introduces iPads to Bisoux Restaurant at LaGuardia Airport

US. Travel restaurateur OTG Management this week introduced 72 new iPads to its Bisoux Restaurant in New York’s LaGuardia Airport Terminal D.

There are 12 units at the bar and another 60 deployed at the tables, bringing LaGuardia’s current iPad rollout to 400, with a total of 2,000 ultimately planned for Terminals C and D.

Travellers can use the new iPads to order food & beverage, check their flight status, log in to Facebook, Twitter and email accounts, play games and browse the web.

The operator said this makes Bisoux the first restaurant in an airport to offer the latest in iPad technology and high-quality food.

OTG CEO Rick Blatstein commented: “As we continue to expand this innovation, OTG is committed to integrating it into our chef-driven restaurants, ensuring the best overall experience. LaGuardia’s Bisoux delivers wonderful dining options, while now complementing that experience with the best of technology and convenience through the iPads. Along with the positive feedback, the number of Bisoux patrons has increased dramatically which further validates the demand for this approach.”

OTG told The Foodie Report that because the customer is in control when they order and when they pay, there is a quicker turn-around time on tables, and thus there are more customers per day.

As reported, the Bisoux concept was created by Chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson of Balthazar, Pastis, and Minetta Tavern fame. Inspired by Provençale cuisine, the bistro features fresh French country cooking with dishes such as Steak Frites, Crispy Duck Confit, Trout Amandine and Macaroni Gratin.

Also starting this week, passengers can order news and magazine titles and have the publications delivered to their seats.

This development comes as part of a wider project by OTG to extend its innovative dining programmes. As reported, in June OTG announced the deployment of over 7,000 iPads in three major airports.
