Want to talk about your pet subject?*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com |
The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Petsonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality is also painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.
In this edition we meet Casa Cuervo Brand Ambassador Abraham Ayala – aka ‘Pitbull’ because of his love of dogs – and Dohko, a five-year-old Presa Canario who weighs in at just 79kg.
Name: Dohko.
Breed: Dohko is a Presa Canario, a large Mastiff-type originally from the Canary Islands and known to be high-energy, protective, affectionate and obedient.
How old is Dohko? He is five years old.

How did you meet? I met Dohko when I was helping a friend who needed medical support. He had a puppy but didn’t really have the money or means to care for him. As a way of thanking me he gave me Dohko. I can honestly say it was an adoption made in heaven.
Love at first sight? Definitely. Dohko was a very energetic puppy, a perfect match to my personality.
Any quirky habits? He is a dog that cares a lot for his family, as is expected from the Presa Canario breed. We live in a forest and have other dogs which we have adopted over the years – Dohko is the one who takes care of them all even though he is the youngest.
Dohko likes to lie back in the sun and chat with the birds. He loves to play frisbee and is great friends with his ‘sisters’ Mahua, who is a Pitbull, and Vice, a Belgian Mallinois Shepherd. They can play all day together.

Funniest and/or nicest moment? One of the best moments with Dohko was when he was welcomed into the family by Svalco, the first puppy I adopted. Svalco was 12, already rather old when Dohka arrived, and he received him like no other puppy. It seemed that he had chosen our new guardian and when Svalco died, Dohko took on his role. For that and many other reasons I love him to bits.
As he is very dominant, Dohko has a difficult character with other male dogs. That said, he is my best friend and, like Svalco before him, gives meaning to my life. He is my anchor; keeps me focused and calm.
Favourite trick? And treat? His favourite toy is his frisbee, along with soft teddies which he takes great care of. He always takes care of his belongings.

Dohko accompanies me to Tito’s Handmade Vodka training in pet-friendly places and he’s great with people. People love him because he is very playful. A 79kg baby!
Social media account? Yes, Dohko is featured on Instagram: @dohko_k9
If Dohko could talk what would his first words be? He would ask me for an omelette because he loves them. And then I would like to ask him if what I do for him and his ‘brothers’ is enough, or what I need to do to improve.
Favourite airport/airline? Dohka is not well travelled at all, but we have plans. I’d like him to get to know the ocean as he loves to play in water.
Anything else we should know? What else can I add? Dohko and I are very happy and have a lot of fun together. I talk to him constantly and want to think that he understands me as I always feel better when I share what’s happening in my life with him. ✈
