Want to talk about your pet?*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com |
The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Petsonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality is also painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.
In this edition we meet the Lego Group Head of Travel Retail Development Annette Rosendahl and her cuddly, nature-loving Karla.

Name: Karla.
Breed: Karla is a Cocker Spaniel Blue Roan, born with black-and-white fur, but now turning more and more greyish – just as her owner.
How old is Karla? She’s 11 years old.

How did you meet? We met Karla at a kennel that was run by a nice couple who had no kids but had devoted all their life to their dogs. Karla was only four weeks old when we met her the first time. She has seven siblings, and we spent hours of fun with all the puppies, and visited a couple of time before we could bring her home.
Love at first sight? I believe Karla chose us. As you can imagine it was difficult to choose between all those adorable puppies, but she just sat down in front of my youngest son looking up at him. If he moved, Karla would move with him. She sensed our special connection even before we did.
She somehow reminded me of the donkey from Shrek. If she could have spoken she would have yelled “pick me, pick me”.

The day we brought her home, she was so calm during the long car trip, and just immediately settled down with us and claimed her space in our family and our hearts.
Quirky habits? Karla loves doing independent walkabouts in the neighbourhood, especially visiting our next-door neighbour, a lovely 82-year-old lady. Karla goes there for a ‘vacation’ when we are travelling and she knows there are always treats when visiting neighbours.
To be honest, you can get Karla’s attention to do anything if treats are involved. If not, she can pretend that she can’t hear you.

We love walking in the forest close to our home. Karla collects sticks all year round, brings them home and we gather them towards a nice midsummer bonfire in June.
Funniest and/or nicest moment? Karla is very cuddly, and just loves being around us all the time. She hates when we start packing a suitcase, as she knows she will most likely be left behind. She’ll crawl into the suitcase when we are packing for a trip, and not let you out of her sight.

She loves to spend time and sleep in the car when we are outside in the garden, because then she can relax and know we will not leave her behind. We often joke about Karla having the most expensive doghouse in the neighbourhood: our car!
Favourite trick? And treat? Karla has so many funny tricks but she’s only willing to perform if she is offered treats. No treats mark the end of the story as far as she is concerned.
She is, however, very disciplined where food and those treats are involved. Karla will never eat her food without permission, and can sit in front of it, waiting for us to say “dinner served”.

Social media account? Nope.
If Karla could talk what would her first words be? She is always hungry so mostly “When will dinner be served?” followed by “Fancy a walk?”
Favourite airport/airline: Karla has never travelled abroad but our local airport Billund is her favourite, and she often joins us when we are picking up people.

Anything else we should know? Karla is really an outdoor lover and can spend hours and hours laying outside enjoying all kind of weather, listening to sounds and making the most of a good sniff of nature. ✈️
