Plaza Premium Group delivers strong local focus with lounge reopening at Langkawi International Airport

The redesigned concept adds a premium passenger offering at one of Malaysia’s busiest airports

MALAYSIA. Global airport hospitality services provider Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has unveiled its relocated lounge at Langkawi International Airport.

The refreshed concept reflects the company’s ‘new chapter, same heart, same soul’ ethos, offering the same signature hospitality in an expanded space.

Located landside to serve both arriving and departing passengers, the lounge is the only one at Langkawi Airport and features 63 seats along with a private dining area.

Plaza Premium Group Founder and CEO Song Hoi See said, “Malaysia has always been a strategic home for Plaza Premium Group.

Distinctive hospitality services rooted in local culture deliver a more meaningful travel experience

“And today we operate a growing network of lounges and airport hospitality services across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and now an enhanced lounge in Langkawi, underscoring our long‑term commitment to the country and its role as a regional hub.

“We are deeply grateful to our partners and stakeholders for their invaluable support in bringing this project to life, and together we will continue to set new standards in airport hospitality and create memorable journeys for travellers around the world.”

The dining area serves up a range of options, including international and local specialities

Plaza Premium Group Regional General Manager Cavin Loh added: “This relocation marks a new chapter for Plaza Premium Lounge in Langkawi. While the space has been transformed, our heart and soul remain the same, dedicated to making travel better by combining world‑class hospitality with a strong sense of place.”

Entry is available at RM118 (US$29) for one hour, offering dedicated areas for dining, relaxation and work.

A creative culinary offering provides a strong expression of local identity

The opening also aligns with the company’s Proudly Local campaign, highlighting its commitment to promoting Langkawi’s culture and creativity.

This approach is carried through the Your Destination Before Departure campaign, currently running in 21 cities, with each Plaza Premium Group lounge worldwide reflecting local heritage, food, art and hospitality.

The concept is supported by cultural collaborations and community partnerships that strengthen the Proudly Local campaign, with lounge ambassadors delivering signature hospitality, local chefs curating dishes, and art and crafts sourced from local communities.

A key feature is the Spicy Chicken Langkawi Luxe with Trio Sambal, a dish rooted in local culinary traditions and given a modern interpretation.

To enhance the lounge experience, PPG partnered with The People Art Gallery to present selected artworks that reflect Langkawi’s creative community. ✈
