UAE. Project Chaiwala, operated by Lagardère Travel Retail at Dubai International Airport, has partnered with Oatly to introduce an exclusive range of plant-based chai beverages.
The collaboration debuts at The Karak Club pop-up and comprises three limited-edition oat-based drinks developed exclusively for the airport environment.
The drinks are available from 5 December to 31 January at Project Chaiwala locations in Terminal 3 across concourses A, B and C, and at FIX in Concourse D.

The range includes The Karak Avo Shake, combining chai with avocado and caramel in an oat-based milkshake format; Iced Karak Arabia, a chilled chai featuring oat milk, ginger and cinnamon; and Hot n Karak, a plant-based reinterpretation of Project Chaiwala’s signature hot chai.
Lagardère Travel Retail noted the drinks are positioned as a contemporary take on a regional staple, aligned with growing demand for non-dairy alternatives among international travellers.
The Karak Club activation also features a curated selection of limited-edition merchandise, including postcards, playing cards and luggage tags, designed in Project Chaiwala’s contemporary brand aesthetic and available exclusively during the takeover.

Lagardère Travel Retail UAE Ramy Sleiman said, “At Lagardère Travel Retail UAE, we are committed to elevating the passenger experience through delivering forward-thinking concepts and activations.
“Our collaboration with Project Chaiwala and Oatly brings this commitment to life by combining innovation with sustainability and delivering an authentic taste of Dubai within the airport environment, complemented by a collection of limited-edition merchandise crafted exclusively for this takeover.”
Project Chaiwala Co-Founder Ahmed Kazim commented, “Chai is deeply rooted in the region’s culture, and we are thrilled to reimagine it in a fresh, plant-based way with Oatly.
“The Karak Club allows us to celebrate tradition while pushing boundaries, giving travellers a taste experience they can only find at DXB.”
Oatly Regional Director MEA Dimitri de Martignac said, “We’re excited to partner with Project Chaiwala and Lagardère Travel Retail UAE to offer an exclusive range of non-dairy Karak beverages for travellers and everyone working at DXB.
“It’s about bringing cultures together through shared taste experiences and welcoming more people into the Karak Club. We couldn’t imagine a better place than DXB to share this with.”
