The new Ricci Ricci Dancing Ribbon visual |
SPAIN. Puig has created a Dancing Ribbon limited-edition version of its Ricci Ricci feminine fragrance, which was launched in 2009. It is available now in European travel retail.
The eponymous pink ribbon was a key element of the original scent, as explained at the launch event in Paris by Nina Ricci Brand Director Margerie Barbès Petit. “The Ricci Ricci woman is sure of her powers of seduction,” she explained. “She is a sophisticated “urban heroine”. She has a secret power that comes from her perfume, which is symbolised by a ribbon.”
For the new fragrance, the ribbon has turned flame red, and is featured on the bottle, box and advertising visual. Inspired by pop art, and reminiscent of Bert Stern’s The Last Sitting photo session with Marilyn Monroe, this red ribbon adorns the print ad campaign like a dash of fluorescent highlighter, according to the brand. Jessica Stam is again the model, framed against the rooftops of Paris.
The juice, described as sensual and mischievous, is the work of Givaudan’s Aurélien Guichard and Jacques Huclier (who composed the original Ricci Ricci fragrance). The scent opens on notes of raspberry, ginger and rhubarb, building to a floral heart whose central ingredient is Belle de Nuit (Beauty of the Night), an unusual flower that blooms only after dark. Other key ingredients include tuberose, Centifolia rose, patchouli and sandalwood.
The flacon and outer packaging draw their inspiration from the House of Ricci, and aim to pay tribute to its three facets: fashion, art and fragrance. The bottle is coloured a rich red (a colour said to feature prominently in Madame Nina Ricci’s fashion sketches), and is adorned by a garnet bow.
Ricci Ricci Dancing Ribbon is available as a 50ml edp spray, and is priced in travel retail at around €49.50.
