Puig partners with Dubai Duty Free in Herrera Confidential pop-up

UAE. Puig has teamed up with Dubai Duty Free to launch the first pop-up shop for its new fragrance collection, Herrera Confidential, at Dubai International Airport.

Open for two months (August and September 2015) at Concourse C, the outlet, operating 24/7 and supported by a team of trained beauty advisors, offers an exclusive collection of fragrances from the House of Herrera.

Herrera Confidential is a project driven by the mother-daughter duo (Carolina Herrera and Carolina Herrera de Baez), said to blend traditional with contemporary and featuring the “most iconic scents of modern perfurmery”.

The collection consists of six fragrances and four essential oils, to be used individually or to be mixed with each other to create a personalised fragrance

The collection consists of six fragrances and four essential oils, to be used individually or to be mixed with each other to create a personalised fragrance. The bottle is stamped with the initials of the House of Herrera.

Herrera Tuberose is described as floral, sensual and intense, a blend of Indian tuberose, orange flowers and vanilla.

Burning Rose combines Bulgarian rose with cinnamon from Laos and ginger burned with patchouli from Indonesia while

Nightfall Patchouli blends benzoin resin with cinnamon and a hint of patchouli.

Oud Culture, said to be inspired from Middle Eastern culture with a modern twist of New York’s cosmopolitian spirit and style, has the hallmark scent of Laos oud, a blend of resins and taif and damascena roses. Neroli Bohème is described as playful and sensual, with Italian citrus fruits for freshness and Indian Jasmine for depth while Amber Desire – traditional yet innovative – echoes Ambre 83, an emblematic and elementary perfume base created at the turn of the 20th century that became part of classic oriental fragrance structures.

Herrera House says it has “reinvented this iconic base giving it a modern twist with an intoxicating fusion of date, rose absolute, vanilla and labdanum”. The result is “a purer, brighter and more powerful interpretation of a classic perfume note”.

The Confidential bottle is, according to Puig, made of the world’s finest glass and stamped with the initials of the House of Herrera

There are four Herrera Confidential Oils: Rose, Oud, Musk and Sandalwood.

“Over the last centuries, cultures of Middle East preserve daily rituals, such as the art of perfuming in layers. This unique process consists of mixing very scents in order to create a unique and personal fragrance. This process expresses the spirit of couture at The House of Herrera,” the company stated.

Puig General Manager Travel Retail Middle East Buddy Abrahams said: “Where better to invite global consumers through the doors of the House of Herrera than Dubai Airport? It’s probably the most eclectic crossroads of people on the planet.

“Once again, Dubai Duty Free has responded to Puig’s ambition to deliver unique, exclusive storytelling experiences for our brands in the Middle East. The striking Herrera Confidential project is a great example of partnership and innovation, providing very intimate access behind the scenes to the dynamic Carolina Herrera brand.”

Dubia Duty Free Vice President for Purchasing Saba Tahir commented: “Dubai Duty Free is a premier location for fragrances worldwide and we continue to deliver impressive growth in this category. Bringing unique experiences such as the airport premiere of Herrera Confidential is a key part of our strategy. I’d like to thank Puig for continuing to define itself as a dynamic and forward thinking brandowner and to the House of Herrera for granting this unprecedented glance into the family’s rich history in fragrances.”
