QATAR. Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free have joined forces as Official Partners for the eagerly anticipated ‘Match for Hope’ charity football game on 23 February.
The event will feature some legendary football stars and other celebrities with the aim to raise awareness and funds for a better future for out-of-school children around the world.
The two competing teams will be led by popular content creators AboFlah and Chunkz, while other participants include World Cup aces Ricardo Kaká, Roberto Carlos, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, David Villa and Claude Makélélé.
The match is organised by Q Life, the cultural platform under the State of Qatar’s International Media Office, in collaboration with Education Above All (EAA) and the Qatar Football Association.
Qatar Airways, Qatar Duty Free and Visit Qatar are the official partners of this philanthropic event.
As a key player in Qatar’s sports industry, Qatar Duty Free said its support strengthens its commitment to championing initiatives that highlight the unifying power of sport.
All proceeds will be donated to EAA projects in Mali, Pakistan, Palestine, Rwanda, Sudan and Tanzania for constructing classrooms, providing academic materials, connecting families to social programmes, teacher mentorship training, and more.
Education Above All is a global foundation established in 2012 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. The foundation aims to transform lives through education and create the right conditions to achieve Sustainable Development Goals for disadvantaged children and communities.
