Record passenger traffic for Lisbon airport in 2004 – 18/01/05

PORTUGAL. A record 10.7 million passengers used Lisbon’s international airport in 2004, marking an increase of +11.1% over 2003, according to airport management company ANA.

Daily records were also set successively between 12 June and July 4, during the Euro 2004 football finals.

The government is committing about €400 million (US$522 million) to expand the airport’s capacity, which should reach 500 flights daily by 2009. The airport now handles about 314 flights daily.
