PERU. Lagardère Travel Retail has hailed a milestone in its progress in South America with the opening of 7,300sq m of retail and dining space in the new terminal at Lima Jorge Chávez International Airport.
Duty-free and duty-paid space spans 4,000sq m while food & beverage covers 3,300sq m and includes Nación Sazón – The Land of Flavours food hall with a range of locally-inspired cuisine.
The company said the project, which took two years to complete, “redefines the passenger experience in Latin America”.

As a first in Latin America, the departures duty-free area features El Mixólogo, a cocktail and tapas bar where passengers can sample crafted last-minute cocktails made from local ingredients, as well as purchase bottles to recreate these flavours at home. Lagardère Travel Retail has also introduced Latin America’s first VIP Room within a duty-free shop.
The duty-free store design pays tribute to Peru’s rich diversity, incorporating patterns and colours inspired by the coastal region, highlands, Andes mountains and Amazonian forest—creating what the company hailed as “an immersive and authentic shopping atmosphere”.
Lagardère Travel Retail Peru said its teams dedicated themselves to realising Lima Airport Partners’ vision for “a modern terminal renowned as Latin America’s premier airport for gastronomy, inviting travellers to transfer in Lima and savour a unique culinary experience during their journey”.
“Thanks to the tireless work of our team in Lima, and the invaluable support of Lima Airport Partners, we have built what we believe is Latin America’s new benchmark for travel retail and airport dining,” said Lagardère Travel Retail Peru CEO Cyril Letocart. “Our extensive new retail offer features the world’s biggest brands alongside a wide range of Peruvian products, while Nación Sazón is a true gastronomic hub that brings Peru’s unique cuisine to the world. We have put our heart and soul into this project and are very proud of the results.”
