Savoir-faire, creativity and luxury – Cartier makes German airport boutique debut with Wempe Jewelers in Frankfurt

Cartier’s Frankfurt Airport boutique features an opulently designed space intended to enhance the luxury shopping experience

GERMANY. Cartier has unveiled a boutique at Frankfurt Airport in partnership with Wempe Jewelers.

The 145 sq m store in Terminal B showcases the Maison’s full range of products in a lavishly designed space.

The opening marks the French luxury house’s first full-line boutique in a German airport as it continues to expand its presence in European travel hubs.

One of Europe’s busiest gateways, Frankfurt Airport’s passenger volumes in the third quarter of 2023 reached 86% of pre-pandemic 2019 levels.

The  store showcases the Maison’s creations, including jewellery, leathergoods, watches, accessories and fragrances

The boutique reflects Cartier’s commitment to elevate the airport retail experience with the store design taking inspiration from Frankfurt’s status as one of the leading travel hubs.

The shop front features champagne gold waves, inviting travellers into an open space adorned with a custom chandelier hanging from the textured patina ceiling and Cartier’s signature feature wall.

The wall is cast in French Casamance wallpaper and illustrates the famed panther roaming from Frankfurt to popular German landmarks. The panther travels through the city’s iron bridge, makes its way to a medieval old house in Frankfurt’s Old Town, and pays a visit to Berlin’s television tower and the Cologne cathedral.

The house’s jewellery and timepiece collections are showcased in the space, as well as accessories such as leathergoods, fragrances and gifts.

The boutique also houses a private salon for travellers to relax while discovering the Maison’s luxury offers.

Cartier Global Travel Retail Director Virginie Martignac said: “Located at the heart of Europe, this new boutique is an exciting step towards our strategic presence on the continent.

“Historically an important city acting as a key entrepot for commerce into Germany, Frankfurt remains today a dynamic financial and cultural center, which serves as the perfect backdrop to our expansion of the Cartier universe.

“Being the largest airport in Germany, Frankfurt Airport is a valuable partner to the Maison. Our mission is to bring our elegant savoir-faire, creativity, and luxury shopping experience to travellers from across the world.”
