UK. Sim Local – one of the world’s largest prepaid local SIM providers to travellers – has reopened its arrivals store at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2.
The company, which described the move as “an important milestone for the business”, had been forced to close the store in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reopening coincides with the business reintroducing representatives to assist partner sales in WHSmith stores at the airport.
Sim Local Chief Business Development Officer Andrew McClellan said: “We are delighted to be reopening our T2 store at Heathrow Airport, after being closed for nearly six months. This is a hugely positive step for our retail business and the wider outlook for the retail and travel market, as international travel begins to pick back up again.
“We introduced screens, enhanced signage and several other precautions in advance of opening to ensure the health and safety of our customers and colleagues.”
Sim Local, established nine years ago, works with affiliate networks across 54 countries. It operates airport stores and vending machines to provide local network bundles to thousands of travellers each year.
