FRANCE. Travel retail supplier Socatec has been appointed by Moulinsart as sole distributor of the world renowned Tintin merchandise to the travel industry. The appointment adds a new dimension to Socatec’s 2010/2011 portfolio at the TFWA World Exhibition next month (Stand number: Blue village F22).
Created by comic artist Hergé in 1929, The Adventures of Tintin has been translated into over 80 languages. The worldwide popularity of his iconic world travelling comic strip character is set for even greater exposure next December with the release of Steven Spielberg’s Tintin trilogy.
This exclusive range of authentic Tintin merchandise comprises a wide spectrum of products, from toys and games, collectibles, figurines, stationery, textiles, books, and postcards, to home ware, fashion textiles, watches and travel accessories. Socatec will concentrate on the most popular fast-moving products that account for a vast proportion of the worldwide sales.
A “one stop source” for travel retail gifts
Socatec has more than 20 years experience in the manufacturing and distribution of travel related toys, models and gifts, and supplies over 200 airport shops and 50 airlines.
The company aims to be a “one stop source” for travel retail gifts and provide a customised product offering within any sales location formats. It is supported by its partnership with Daron USA, the leading travel inspired toy and model supplier, and Hogan Wings, a major manufacturer of collector models.
Socatec’s wide range of toys include exclusive customised licensed product lines such as the Airbus A380, Boeing, Air France/KLM, British Airways, Air Force One, NYPD, licensed airport sets, radio controlled and pull-back planes, flight attendant dolls, construction toys (only for ground shops), Magic Fun Plane, soft toys, an extensive Cruise range and iconic Monuments of the World 3D puzzles.
