Bold Black Cherry is the latest Southern Comfort flavour |
Brown-Forman-owned brand Southern Comfort is extending its flavoured liqueur line with its Bold Black Cherry, a mixture of Southern Comfort with whiskey and cherry flavours.
The new product will be rolled out across the US, UK and Ireland next month. The 75cl 70% abv liqueur will carry a suggested retail price of US$16.99.
With the launch of Bold Black Cherry the brand said it intended to maintain its position as a leader in the flavoured spirits category. Southern Comfort Vice President and Managing Director Mark Bacon commented: “The launch of Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry continues the brand’s innovation with new flavours, which began with Southern Comfort Lime in 2010 and continued with Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper last autumn.
“We feel Bold Black Cherry will recruit new consumers into the Southern Comfort franchise, [those] who enjoy a distinctive flavour profile in their cocktails.”
Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry has been designed to appeal to a broad age range and meet consumer demand for flavoured spirits. The brand is confident the new expression will “continue to increase relevance amongst younger drinkers, offering a bolder drink that’s ideal for high-energy occasions”.
